It remains unclear whether Summit Entertainment’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, to be directed by Bill Condon, and starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner, will be shot in Rio de Janeiro, where Bella and Edward spend their fateful honeymoon.

The problem — or at least the chief problem — is reportedly tied to security issues in that city and the homonymous state in which it’s located.

The latest on that from RioFilme’s director/president Sérgio Sá Leitão — in a tweet dated Sept. 6 — is that Breaking Dawn will “apparently” be shot in Rio, “though that hasn’t been confirmed, yet.”

Stretch Armstrong, is based on the popular Hasbro doll from the late 70s and stars Taylor Lautner in the lead role. We learned quite a bit about this upcoming project from Nick, who was in the midst of working on the Stretch Armstrong screenplay as we chatted with him.

Here is our conversation:

I see that you’re writing Stretch Armstrong. Is this something that is actually going to happen soon?

Nick Stoller: I have (the script) open on my computer right now. Rob Letterman is directing. And Taylor Lautner is starring. It’s a big, action-type of superhero movie. It is outside of my genre wheelhouse, but it is really exciting to work on it. There are certainly comedic elements to it. But it is very much a superhero movie.

I’m assuming that you are around my age, and that you had a Stretch Armstrong doll when you were a kid?

Nick Stoller: No, I didn’t have a Stretch Armstrong. But I had a friend that did.

This probably sounds stupid, but it so clearly sticks out in my mind. When I see the words Stretch Armstrong, I think of the rubber on this doll getting cracked and dirty, and this jelly oozing out of him. It was devastating when my mom threw the disgusting thing in the trash. That, too me, is Stretch Armstrong. Will we see that referenced in the film?

Nick Stoller: Yeah. I don’t know if we’ll see a mom throwing him in the trash. But I think that is a common thing that people have said to me. When you are a kid, you want to see how far Stretch Armstrong can stretch. I think part of this ties into Hasbro launching a new line of toys. This is not a toy that kids are familiar with now. So they are re-launching a whole line of crazy stretch toys to go along with the movie. Its fun to create a whole universe. There was nothing to the back-story, so it’s exciting.

And you say its going to be a superhero movie?

Nick Stoller: Yeah. It’s going to be a total superhero movie. There is nothing to base the story on. There were never any comic books, or anything. We’ve gotten to have complete creative freedom in terms of creating this universe. Which is kind of daunting, because Marvel has sixty or seventy years of stories to play with. It’s also kind of great, because we’re not beholden to anyone. We are not beholden to any stories. We are not beholden to something that started in 1960. We get to create this from the ground up, and make a very current, fun, superhero story.

With the old toys from the late 70s, they did have Stretch Monster, and the two Stretch Octopi, which all had that gross grape jelly in them, as opposed to the Kyro syrup that was in Stretch Armstrong. Are any of them going to be incorporated into the movie?

Nick Stoller: No. It’s just Stretch. Stretch is a lot different now than he was in the late 70s.

What sort of nemesis is he going after in this movie if its not the green Stretch Monster?

Nick Stoller: I’m not sure what I’m allowed to say about it. I’m new to the world of not being able to talk about stories. I come from the world of comedy, where you can talk about what ever you want. But Stretch lives in a very grounded, real world. Our inspiration is as much The Dark Knight as it is the Bourne movies. His nemesis is a rogue element. Not to get to into it, but they are rogue soldiers. Those are his nemesis.

For years, DC Comics as tried to get Plastic Man off the ground as a feature film. Did you have to look at those comic books to ensure that you weren’t heading down the same road as that iconic character?

Nick Stoller: No. This is quite different from anything else out there. Our fundamental story is a ways away from that. I am not worried about him being too close to Plastic Man or Mr. Fantastic from Fantastic Four. It’s quite different. It’s a lot more grounded in the real world, assuming that you had a guy who could stretch. What would that look like? He’s not creating parachutes. It’s a much-more grounded look.

You are also co-writing The Muppets. Where is that film in terms of production at this point?

Nick Stoller: That is eight weeks out now. I co-wrote the screenplay with Jason Segel. James Bobin, who co-created Flight of the Conchords, is directing it.

What kind of scene did you guys write for Seth Rogen and Rowlf to star in together?

Nick Stoller: (Laughs) Nothing yet! I know he did a Saturday Night Live skit dressed as Rowlf. But we have not written that scene into the film. Not yet!

You worked with Sean Combs in Get Him To the Greek. He’s appearing in the Joaquin Phoenix documentary this weekend called I’m Not Here. There’s a lot of speculation about the authenticity of this film. Is it real or is it fake. Having worked with Sean Combs, what is your take on it? Is he acting? Or is this the real him?

Nick Stoller: I haven’t seen the documentary. So I have no idea. I just now read a description about what that documentary is. Whether it is a mockumentary or a documentary? I couldn’t tell you. I didn’t even realize he was in that. Sean Combs has so many things going on, I was surprised that he was even in that movie.

Sean Combs certainly steals the show in Get Him to the Greek. Do you think we’ll see him return with Aldos Snow in a third film? And if so, is Jonah Hill going to play a completely different character yet again?

Nick Stoller: We haven’t talked about it yet. But never say never. And I think you are right. If we did do another Aldos Snow film, we would definitely have to have a third character for Jonah Hill to play.

Get Him to the Greek was released June 4th, 2010 and stars Russell Brand, Rose Byrne, Tyler McKinney, Zoe Salmon, Lino Facioli, Lars Ulrich, Mario López, Pink. The film is directed by Nick Stoller.

The Muppets comes to theaters December 25th, 2011 and stars Jason Segel. The film is directed by James Bobin.

Stretch Armstrong comes to theaters in 2012 and stars Taylor Lautner. The film is directed by Rob Letterman.

Sad news alert!

You won’t be seeing Twilight’s biggest stars this weekend—at least not on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards…

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are not—we repeat, not—expected to attend the big Chelsea Handler-hosted shindig. It’ll be weird without them, but with no projects (i.e., Breaking Dawn) to promote, there’s no major reason for the trio to be there.

Plus, they’re busy. Rob’s been on holiday while Kristen and Taylor are off filming nonbloodsucking projects.

No word on other Twi- plans for the VMAs, but we wouldn’t be surprised if some of the vampire saga’s other costars show up at the VMAs to represent.

And now for the seriously more hard-core Twi-hards out there, Summit Entertainment is celebrating Bella’s upcoming birthday by rereleasing Eclipse in theaters starting on Friday.

“The Twilight Saga’s Eclipse” has entertained moviegoers this summer but fans can see it again in theaters this month. This third “Twilight” film will grace cinemas across the nation on Friday, September 10 to celebrate Bella’s birthday which actually falls on date 13 of the same month.

In “Eclipse”, Bella is threatened by Victoria who comes back to Seattle to take revenge for James’ death as seen in the first movie. In the meantime, with her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life, which is to be turned into a vampire or not.

Starring Kristen Stewart as the female lead character, this follow-up to “The Twilight Saga’s New Moon” also still features Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner as Edward and Jacob respectively. The next installment of the vampire drama series will be split into two parts: “The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn Part I” which is due in the U.S. November 18, 2011 and “The Twilight Saga’s Breaking Dawn Part II” which is slated for November 16, 2012 release. It is recently reported that the production in Vancouver will start in February 2011.

In case you’re just tuning into Taylor Lautner’s trailer situation, here’s the deal: Lautner apparently paid to have a trailer (a 2006 Affinity Country Coach) customized to include all of the fixings he’d chosen before filming Abduction. The company who he ordered it from apparently did not meet the time schedule and customization details set forth in the contract, and this caused Lautner emotional distress.

[Side note: There are those who suggest Lautner was overreacting by filing this claim. Here's my response to that: There have definitely been times in my life where I, as a consumer, have been unbelievably perturbed about a merchant who wronged me - whether it be warped furniture, faulty DVDs, etc. My frustrations even, I would contend, broached distress from time to time. In those situations, if the issue had been worth enough money - the way that Lautner's case certainly is - I would've taken the retailer to court based on principle alone. Big or small, the idea is the same.]

The trailer shop owner fired back with a ridiculous push-up contest, saying the winner should donate $40,000 to charity. Lautner’s attorney was none-too-pleased by the contest idea, but the suggestion that a charity of Lautner’s choice could receive donation money from this big ordeal was something they were amiable to.

According to the Associated Press, the deal is done and $40,000 (no push-ups involved) is to be donated to Lollipop Theater Network in settlement of Lautner’s claim.

Looks like the trailer fiasco turned into a philanthropic win after all.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and Taylor Lautner (“Jacob Black”) have scored a few wins in NextMovie.com’s 2010 Summer Movie Awards.

NextMovie.com is a fairly new site associated with MTV.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse won the site’s “Best Tent Scene” award, beating out Sex And The City 2. The “tent scene,” of course, was one of the most anticipated moments in Eclipse.

Taylor Lautner was awarded the “Best Use of Abs” award (no joke) over Jake Gyllenhaal in Prince Of Persia.

True enough, the two categories seem tailor-made (ha) for Twilight, but still. At least fans didn’t have to blister our fingers to vote for ‘em!

NextMovie.com also remarked on how Eclipse turned out as compared to predecessors Twilight and The Twilight Saga: New Moon, saying “we were happy to report that ‘Eclipse’ was the best ‘Twilight’ movie by a landslide.” This seems to be a popular opinion, but there are certainly those who favor the others, too.

The fact that production for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is taking place partially in Baton Rouge, Louisiana is making big waves in the community.

A local news source did some poking around to find out details about production plans for the films, and they learned that the scenes being shot in Louisiana will indeed be indoors and that it is being considered very beneficial to the local economy.

“What you’ll see is much like what ‘Steel Magnolias’ did for Natchitoches . . . People go to Natchitoches to this day to see the house in ‘Steel Magnolias,’” reports WBRZ. Given the fact that Twilight fans are famed for traveling to Forks, La Push, Portland, Vancouver, and even to Italy to see the Twilight sights, this is probably at least a little true.

Specific details were, of course, unavailable, but the station’s news clip shows a bit of what’s being said around town about the production.

Today was the day when Emily Rizzo of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania finally got to catch up with Taylor Lautner. Emily Rizzo and several of her friends have consistently extra’d throughout the ‘Abduction’ filming process at endless hours of the day. Unfortunately, when filming is in session the extras are off limits to having contact with any of the movie stars, including yours truly Taylor Lautner.

How did you get to meet Taylor Lautner?

Well, their car drove out of the parking lot and Lily Collins rolled down the window and told us to go down to the Bass Camp and we did. So, we walked down the street and then Taylor came out and shook our hands.

That’s really sweet of her to tell you guys to come down there! What happened next?

After he came to meet us we got to talk to him too and I told him I was an extra in your movie (Abduction) several days. I was also there yesterday and he said he remembered seeing me and I told him how I work at PNC Park (Pittsburgh Pirates Field) and he passed me while I was working the dessert cart!

Now the girls of the United States know who to blame if his abs start disappearing!

Hahaha, but I said “You didnt look too interested in any of it”, and he started laughing (self explanatory).

So, how many of you were able to meet Taylor at that time?

It was just me and my three friends were also there, Chelsea Schutz, Angela Thomas, and Christine Schell! We all got pictures and he said he was so glad to meet all of us. He was really sweet!

How was it on set? Also, how many days did you extra in the movie?

It was amazing being on set! Long hot days but it was totally worth it. The cast and crew were extremely nice. I was an extra 3 different days!

What is one of your favorite parts of being on the set with Taylor Lautner?

My favorite part about being in the film is definitely seeing Taylor act up close and personal and to see what he was like off camera. Being around such talanted ppl and learning about production was definitely a plus in working on the film as well.

Finally, Emily says..

It was a great experience everyone there was so friendly. I cant wait for the movie to come out. Overall it was an amazing experience and I hope you guys look out for me in the movie!

Sounds like an amazing experience! If you want to ask Emily any questions, feel free to send her a shout on twitter! Her twitter is @Erizzox3. But be courteous, don’t be upset that she can’t release any information about the movie because that is against the terms and conditions that she signed when becoming an extra.

This exclusive interview was brought to you by Taylor Lautner Online.

A couple of day ago, TMZ broke the story that Taylor Lautner was suing a store called McMahon’s RV for not having his pricey, customized trailer delivered on time. The suit was reportedly filed under the theory of breach of contract which led to emotional distress.

Seems simple enough, right?

Well, yesterday, the Associated Press announced that the owner of the store in question “offered to compete in a push-up contest to settle” the case.

“The dealership said Lautner’s camp had sought a $40,000 settlement to resolve the case, leading to the unorthodox proposal by McMahon. The 47-year-old businessman said if he won the contest, he would donate the settlement money to Children’s Hospital of Orange County.”

Here’s what Taylor Lautner’s party had to say in return, according to one source:

“While we will not dignify Mr. McMahon’s facetious suggestion of a contest to settle a legal claim with a response, we do welcome the opportunity for him to resolve this matter by making a $40,000 donation to the charity of Mr. Lautner’s choice, and we will be in touch with his counsel to see if he will make good on this offer . . . [The offer] demonstrates the lack of professionalism that Mr. McMahon, his company and his employees have exhibited from the outset, and that compelled the filing of this lawsuit in the first place. This suit is not about a “customized” RV, it is about McMahon’s RV’s refusal to deliver the vehicle in the safe, drivable condition that was promised, as every purchaser has the right to expect.”

So, while something good may come of the situation in that a charity might receive donation money, it is rather sad that Taylor Lautner’s attempt to seek justice of a consumer rights issue was met with such juvenile treatment.
